What does Vitamin E do for the skin?

Vitamin E, or Tocopherol, is a natural moisturizer. In addition to a moisturizing function, vitamin E has also anti-inflammatory properties. Makes the skin soft and smooth and acts as an antioxidant. Protects the skin cells against free radicals. Because of its ability to quench free radicals the term “protector” has been used to describe the actions of vitamin E. This may be also due to the excellent moisturizing effect of vitamin E. Vitamin E in combination with vitamin A produces increased storage of vitamin A when applied
topically. Vitamin E is popular as antioxidant, moisturizing and rejuvenating ingredient.

The importance of SPF cream

More and more women (and men too) are aware of skin aging and are increasingly concerned with keeping the skin healthy. For example, skin care routines are becoming more extensive and skin products are chosen more carefully that really suit the type of skin. This is of course very good news and a big step in the right direction! Unfortunately, many still forget the importance of SPF cream. There is a good chance that your customers do not or not sufficiently use a sunscreen for the face. It is important to explain how SPF cream works so that your customers can also see its benefits, in the short and long term. Some of the benefits of using sunscreen every day:

  • The skin is protected from sun damage and air pollution
  • The skin aging process is slowed down
  • It can help reduce the risk of skin cancer

This is how we fight skin aging together and create a healthy, glowy skin!

What do peptides do for the skin?

What do peptides do for the skin?

Peptides are the anti-ageing agent, stimulate the skin to make collagen. Peptides give the skin a fresh look, let the skin shine, increase the energy to support the restorative capacity of the skin and protect against oxidative stress. Peptides are proteins, molecules built from amino acids, that signal the skin cells to produce new proteins. Peptides are capable of penetrating the uppermost layers of the skin and promote anti-ageing effects. The molecules are considered to be a chain of amino acids. Amino acids are organic compounds that contain a carboxyl and an amino.

Research indicates that peptides have been used to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.

The anti-aging agent: peptide is used in our Cell Recovery Meta Therapy treatment and skin care!

Skinsight

The skin is the largest organ on the body, made up of several different components, including water, protein, lipids and different minerals and chemicals. The skin will change constantly and will regenerate itself approximately every 28 days. Proper skin care is essential to maintaining the health and vitality of this protective organ.

The skin layers

Epidermis: The outer layer of the skin

The epidermis is the thinnest layer in your skin, but it’s responsible for protecting you from the harsh environment. The epidermis has five layers of its own: Stratum Corneum,Stratum Lucicum, Stratum Granulosum, Stratum Spinosum and Stratum Basale. The epidermis also hosts different types of cells: keratinocytes, melanocytes and Langerhans cells. Keratinocytes produce the protein known as keratin, the main component of the epidermis. Melanocytes produce your skin pigment, known as melanin. Langerhans cells prevent foreign substances from getting into your skin.

Dermis: The middle layer of the skin

This layer contains nerves that sense pain, touch, and temperature and is the layer responsible for wrinkles. The dermis is a complex combination of blood vessels, hair follicles and sebaceous (oil) glands. Here you’ll find collagen and elastin, two proteins necessary for skin health because they offer support and elasticity. In this layer you will find ‘Fibroblasts’, these cells synthesize collagen and elastin.

Subcutis: The skin’s fatty layer

Reduction of tissue in this layer is what causes your skin to sag as well as wrinkle. This layer hosts sweat glands, and fat and collagen cells. The subcutis is responsible for conserving your body’s heat and protecting your vital inner organs.

Collagen

Collagen is found in the dermis and is the most abundant protein in the skin, making up 75% of this organ. This is also your fountain of youth. It is responsible for warding off wrinkles and fine lines. Over time, environmental factors and ageing diminish your body’s ability to produce collagen and can also break down existing collagen.

Elastin

When you hear the word elastin, think elastic. This protein is found with collagen in the dermis, and is responsible for giving structure and support to your skin and organs. As with collagen, elastin is affected by time and the elements. Diminished levels of this protein cause your skin to wrinkle and sag.

Fibroblasts

Fibroblasts are young, connective tissue cells which are responsible for the texture of the skin. They are found together with collagen and elastin in the connective tissue of the dermis.

Keratinocytes

Keratinocytes are the most common type of skin cells. They make keratin, a protein that provides strength to skin, hair and nails. Keratinocytes form in the deep, basal cell layer of the skin and gradually migrate upward before reaching the surface of the skin over the course of a month. Its main function is to form a barrier between the skin and its environment.

DNA

DNA is like the hard drive of the cells that contain all information. DNA is stored in the core of the skin cells, and includes the building plan for the production of all proteins. During mitosis identical copies of the DNA are made. If your DNA is healthy and okay, then your skin is beautiful.

Dermatude

Dermatude works on the epidermis, the upper layer of the skin. The treatment module perforates the basal cell layer into the upper layer of the dermis (not deeper than 0.3 mm), which when activated, enhances the production of collagen and elastin, cell renewal and natural skin regeneration. Due to the patented Flex Head Technology in the treatment module, it is impossible to go into the deeper layers of the skin; the risk on the development of subcutaneous scar tissue is nil. Meta Therapy has a double active function; the controlled micro perforations activate the natural regeneration of the skin and apply the exact amount of active ingredients (Subjectables) in the layer of the skin where they can be most active.

Dermatude Meta Therapy Treatments

Treatment options

With Meta Therapy it is possible to perform different kinds of treatments, completely adjusted to the needs of the client. Depending on the desired results there are 4 treatment modules to choose from:

Facial treatment: 18 points module – Flex Head technology

The facial treatment focusses on the whole face and is aimed at skin improvement and skin rejuvenation. The skin will get a better structure, finer pores, more firmness, elasticity and a youthful appearance.

Neck/décolleté treatment: 38 points module – Flex Head technology

With Meta Therapy it is also possible to focus on specific area’s like the neck and décolleté. In the neck/décolleté treatment a special 38-point module is used to obtain even more intense results.

Line treatment: 7 or 9 points module

In addition to the overall improvement in the skin, it is also possible to use very specific Meta Therapy treatments for individual wrinkles and fine lines.

Flex Head Technology

The Flex Head Technology and curved stamp surface guarantee equal depth no matter the irregular shape of the treated skin..

Treatment schedule

In most cases, there is visible result after only one treatment. But a single Meta Therapy treatment is not sufficient to achieve immediately visible results that will last. For this reason you always start with an initial course of treatments.

Facial treatment

Week 1 to 4: -> 1x per week

Week 5 to 12: -> 1x every 2 weeks

From weeks 16/18: -> 1x every 4 to 6 weeks

Start with at least 4 weekly treatments, followed by 4 treatments every other week. It is recommended to maintain the achieved results by 1 treatment every 4 to 6 weeks.

Wrinkle treatment*

Wrinkle treatments are carried out with an intermediate period of 2 weeks between each treatment. On average, 4 to 5 treatments are necessary for the best results.

*availability differs per country

The treatment in 10 steps

An intake is done prior to the first treatment. With a full explanation of what Meta Therapy involves and its effect on the skin. A personalized advice on treatment and products is given. The ‘informed consent’ is filled in and possible unrealistic expectations on the part of the client are adjusted.

  • Always take a photograph before the course of treatment begins and take another photograph after the course. The difference clearly shows the effect of Meta Therapy.
  • The Dermatude treatment starts with cleansing of the skin, using Dermatude Oxygen Boost Cleanser & Toner.
  • To remove dead skin cells and to prepare the skin the Dermatude Enzyme Peel is applied.
  • After that, the skin is analyzed with the Hydra Guard to determine the skin type and to select the right Subjectable.
  • Once disinfected, the Subjectable is applied on the skin in small zones. Subjectables are special serums with active ingredients which are inserted into the deeper skin layers during the treatment.
  • You can opt for skin improvement and anti-ageing of the whole face as well as targeted treatments of specific areas and specific wrinkles. It is even possible to combine treatments to achieve the best result.
  • The facial treatment is done with the 18 points module. Specific areas like the neck and décolleté can be treated with the 38 points module.
  • For treatment of fine lines and specific wrinkles you can opt for two modules. The 9 points module in flat formation is used for treatment of frown lines. The 7 points module in round formation is used for treatment of fine lines.
  • After the treatment the Intense Restore Mask is applied to help restore the skin after the treatment. It cools and soothes the skin and takes away redness.
  • Dermatude high quality skincare for home use is applied. The ingredients are completely attuned to the Subjectable applied in the treatment. Use Dermatude Skin Care daily to support and help prolong treatment results at home.

The average time needed for a full facial treatment is approximately 55 minutes depending on the clients demands. After the treatment the skin may show some redness, but this will reduce in a matter of hours. It is even allowed to wear make-up the next day!
